agm batteries do not live long if over charged ..  most new  fords have agm batterys .  they can be recovered if they are dead but it must be a long slow 1 amp charge rate . if they get hot they dry out and then are trash . if you leave them connected and  the clock kills them while they sit in garage they  might only recover 2 times
we have 24 f motorcraft lead acid batterys in both shelbys and one lasted over 10 years in the 65 .

You can peel this hobby like an onion ..  being interested in a facet  that  may or may change "your idea" of the onion  is part of the interest that keeps the hobby going forward .  how many times can you argue what color the floor is on a 67  gt 350.
new thoughts are welcome and needed .

if i had the flow bench  doug and i would be doing some testing  .... even if we were the only ones that cared .

the logistics of getting cars from factory to shelby or ao smith .  they had to run . and its not un realistic  to think ford could assemble the engines with correct intakes  and get them to the assembly line . thats what build sheets were for. (and still are) .  and the stories of carbs being stolen off trains and storage lots  would lean that way. all those cars in lax photos with no hoods have intakes and carbs and airfilters  before they  were modified.
