Original carb

Thanks Patrick. Do you have a carb tag as well and if so what is that date?

Quote from: J_Speegle on June 01, 2026, 05:15:06 PMAre you asking about the date stamp on the carb or on the tag?

For the carb I've got original cars in that period stamped with the date of 895 in my records.  Tag dates? I'ld have to look closer in another location for that data if that is what your asking. Kevin Marti does reproduce those.

Inquiring about the date stamp on the carb itself. Should that date match with the date on the carb tag?

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Carburetor Date Stamp
June 01, 2026, 04:58:53 PM
Any thoughts on what would be an appropriate month in the carburetor date stamp for a GT500 actually built Jan 28, 1969? I'm assuming it would be sometime in Q4 1968. Thanks.

Thanks. More than love needed LOL, but I'll give it a go.

I went through this a few years ago. See forum post: https://www.saac.com/forum/index.php?topic=22926.0

The hole diameters are not called out in the drawing. Best to use a caliper to measure the diameter of the widest part of the socket and use a step drill bit to work up that hole size. Maybe go 1/16" smaller and then use a file to make sure the socket fits snugly. Good luck!

I need to replace the beltline moldings on my 69 GT500. I read many good reviews about Daniel Carpenters weatherstripping kits, however, they don't seem to make the door beltline inner/outer weatherstrip. Repops and PUI beltline kits gets mixed reviews. Would appreciate any recommendations. Thank you.

Appeals / Re: LED lights

I replaced all of my interior and exterior (except for headlights) filament bulbs with LEDs from HiPo parts. They have a complete list of their LED bulbs for 69-70 Mustangs/Shelby's at https://www.hipoparts.com/1969-70-ford-mustang/. Their flasher, however, didn't work for me. I ended up using the Bespokepower BSP-FLSH 1.

On a trunk lid related question - were there any factory markings on the underside of the trunk lid, like chalk marks indicating assembly dates?

Mansfield does not have any.  :(
