Quote from: shelbymann1970 on November 26, 2025, 07:00:49 PMFirst off if I was looking for what you are I'd buy a Gt350 4 speed. They are cheaper than a 500 and gives you more $$$ for upgrades. Why a 350? well you mentioned handling. Better handling cars to start with. MUCH easier to work on. I own a 68 Gt500, a 69 Mach1 R code and a 70 Gt350 vert. So take you savings and buy a Paxton and a Holley on the 351W and you have your horsepower. Want more? well there are nice aluminum heads to choose from. Add a 5 speed. Lots of suspension upgrades available to choose from. to buy a 500 and modify it for "handling and power" when you will always have a more balanced car with the Gt350 and adding the Paxton could give you the power you need might be a way for you to go. Also with the price difference you might even get yourself a nice crate engine to start with if you want more plug and play and keep the original engine off to the side. Good luck on your endeavor.

Thank you. Psychologically, I need a GT500. I currently own a 2020 GT350, possibly the best Mustang ever built.
are you planning on working on it yourself? I've owned many 428cars over the years and I've learned the tricks to work on them and they still are a pita. Good luck on your search.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Trunk light ground screw

Quote from: Special Ed on November 25, 2025, 08:58:38 AMCorrect phillips  ground screw since this was a unique a o smith shelby fastback only thing due to fastback all fiberglass decklid vs metal lower and upper fiberglass on the convertibles so they ground like the rest of mustangs. Remember the trunk light was pre installed on 69-70 shelbys so the wiring got body color paint sprayed over it depending on how it was taped to decklid bottom or waded up pushed in the decklid hinge hole eith way they always have some body color sprayed on wiring.
For ref. This is the original overspray on my convertible wiring.

Quote from: Cobrask8 on November 26, 2025, 05:25:23 PMHaving owned a 69 Big Block, I can offer some areas that I focused on:

Engine health - Especially in Vegas, cooling system 100%
Engine mods - I did a cam upgrade to make it a little happier mid-range. Headers and better exhaust, but still stock-ish. Maybe look into the throttle-body EFI so no vapor-locking and better running? Hides under the air cleaner for a good look.
Brakes - YES!!!! Best you can put inside the `15" wheels
Better shocks and sway bar connections. Connect it better to the road.
Front suspension & steering - New & Tight!
Are you referring to my 428 SCJ on the cam upgrade?

That is a great deal!

Quote from: 69 GT350 Vert on November 16, 2025, 09:27:06 AMIt's not cheap, but bossniner on eBay has a lot of stuff for sale.

Well lets see that is Steve Strange. My friend tried buying something off of him and my friend has a SAAC survivor gold Boss 429. you know what Steve said to him? Nope, not selling you the part because you have never bought from me before. Now that is "Strange". I've followed his parts on Ebay for years and ,yes, the same parts have been for sale for years and he keeps raising them. Example; 69-70 Shelby 4 speed shift knob.

Quote from: Coralsnake on November 08, 2025, 01:51:53 PMSorry, I dropped the ball on this

The hardware is silver zinc. I have seen the big washers painted body color, but I think zinc is more typical
thanks Pete as always. What I realized also is that they have to be mounted on the car before you can scotch lock the end plugs for the lights to adapt to the front harness.

Quote from: shelbyhertz66 on November 08, 2025, 11:12:07 AMMorning All,
Just wondering if anyone has done business with West Coast Classic Couger?
Of course some Couger parts crossover with Mustangs , so just checking if
anyone had any thoughts on their experience.
thanks!
The owner of WCC also does You-tube videos. Great guy to deal with so you can buy with confidence.

Quote from: texas swede on November 02, 2025, 02:06:54 PMTalked to Roland a few minutes ago and he reminded me the car was red with gold stripes when he bought it in 1981.
Originally, it was owned by a Swedish Rock Singer of Turkish descent who painted it red with painted gold stripes.
Probably the stripe kits weren't available in Sweden
When Roland restored the car, he hand scraped off all the old paint and he is 100% sure the stripes on the
Gulfstream Aqua layer was white. He said he checked and double checked it.
Texas Swede

instead of debating you on stripe colors I'll just link you to Pate's site and from documentation he has each car color stripes and only 1 stripe color per car's color.   https://www.thecoralsnake.com/1969paint.html

Quote from: texas swede on October 31, 2025, 09:12:20 AMThis car is one car away from Roland's Gulfstream Aqua GT350 Convertible in Sweden (1204).
His car has white side stripes as does this car.
1205 was for sale in the Marque/Shelby American about 40 years ago. Good memory for an old geezer
like me.
Texas Swede
But GSA cars came from SA with GOLD stripes. Just like red cars we see white stripes instead of the factory gold sometimes.
