Cool piece. I got an NOS one in the Ford box and it doesn't have a dust cap on it.

Quote from: tesgt350 on January 31, 2025, 08:04:05 AMWhen does the Battery get Judged?  When it goes through Tech to get put in the right Judging Class or when it is Parked in its assigned Spot and after the Owner Details the Car for Judging? If it is after the Owner Details the Car for Judging, then why does it matter, just shine up the Dead F24/F27 Battery and swap it out at the Show?  I have seen many people do that.
The battery typically gets judged on the show field when judging for that car begins. Many entrants switch out the battery when the car gets to its judging spot.
Thanks. That is exactly what was done with my friend's B9 at French Lick(survivor gold).

I buy Costco and my friend has bought Rural King batteries for our cars. A few years ago they "had" 3 group 27s in stock at RK for 70 bucks. The guy pulled down 3 pallets and couldn't find it. I think I paid 92 at Costco. My friend is still running his RK group 27 in his 70 Gt500 vert with no issues.

OK what about using an aftermarket battery when being judged to show everything works then a factory battery put in? Is that acceptable?

Quote from: Bob Gaines on January 29, 2025, 09:40:59 AMIf someone is going to invest in the shocks it is important to let them know that the C9ZX -C rear shocks are for a Automatic GT500 . The front shocks were used for ether 4sp or auto. Best of luck with the sale of the rare shocks.
would they also be correct for a GT350?

Unfortunately I just saw this topic so a belated "thank you for your service" to all our Vets. I'll watch the video when I get a little time today. My Nephew/Godson is a Major in the Air Force(career) running cyber security schools right now. I couldn't be prouder of him.

Quote from: Kent on January 28, 2025, 01:53:24 AMin my opinion Hemmings is a good place to start for the beginning. I still like it as there are more older car guys and these are really nice people to do business with. But you maybe need some more time with Hemmings. Bringatrailer is good, achieves higher prices the most of the time, but you always have to pay them and the buyer also has a 5% fee.

One of the best sale opportunities is also old school go to car meets, have fun and maybe find some interested buyers.
You pay them 99 bucks which to me is pretty cheap and worth it(buyer is capped at 5 percent up to 7500). The only problem is that sometimes for their non "preferred" sellers they want low reserves.
Vern, Well said. Very well said. Like Bob said you have come a long way in the hobby. We appreciate having younger people like you promoting the Marque.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / glass seals
January 11, 2025, 04:26:01 PM
It was mentioned a while ago about what window seals were the best reproduction out there and  Virdinia classic Mustang just got some some rear window seals in stock IIRC. So what are the best out there right now that have no issues when it comes to stainless trim install? Thanks.

Quote from: 98SVT - was 06GT on January 02, 2025, 06:15:59 PMVery much a which year discussion.
65-67 - CA built
68-69 - MI built
What were the Union rules once assembly moved to Ford. The engines were assembled in the engine plant. What were the union rules on who got to touch them and make changes at the assembly plant? It may have been easier to let the contractor (AO Smith) handle all the changes.
AS a UAW worker in the automotive field in Mi since 1978 there would be no union "rules" affecting how this would have been done either way. There would be no "lines of demarcation" to these jobs.

Quote from: QuickSilverShelby on January 01, 2025, 09:03:27 PMSome people are just dip shits.  $300 for their original manual!  That's some of the best $300 ever spent.

And the people who don't want their original manual...... those owners are "special".

QSS

I suppose by your standards I'm special then. I wanted the original 68 owners manual for my car but was not willing to pay the ransom. He was a previous owner and had tracked me down through Mongo/Vinman . He offered to sell it to me and emailed a picture . The manual was in terrible condition with faded and torn half missing front cover and dog eared inner pages. I still would have paid 300.00 for it in a second if he had offered that because of sentimental value but felt taken advantage of when he said it would take 1500.00 to buy it. While thinking this situation over I looked at the NOS manual I had for the car held in my hand and the picture of the dog eared torn cover manual in the emailed picture on the computer monitor he sent and there was no contest . I was not going to be taken advantage of and pay a obvious ransom so I declined his offer.
I hear you Bob. The second owner(Belgian) offered me my original owners manual and steering wheel out of my 70 for 7000.00 dollars. I bought a mint original from Jim Cowles for 100 bucks and already had an NOS wheel tucked away for my vert so I declined....I did offer him over market value at the time but he declined then through them on Ebay(circa 2010) for less than half of what he offered them to me. He still has them.
