Thank you thank you!  I will plan a pilgrimage.  Anyone else in the Chicagoland area interested in going some weekend?

Okay, I just called Hagerty and they are open on Sat from 8:30 to 4:00 and on Sunday 12:00 to 4:00 to view the Bullitt  I am considering a visit this weekend.

Getting some flak from a buddy about driving up this weekend due to snow conditions.  He thinks I'll slide off the road and die and they won't find me until Spring.  Worth the risk?  I have a wide open weekend full of not much to do.  We'll see.

I missed it in Detroit. I read it will be in DC in April displayed in a glass box. Does anyone know where else it will be displayed in the US before going to Europe? I could find no further info on the interweb. Just hope it doesn't disappear while on tour a la James Dean's wrecked 550!

The funniest part of all this is that I believe the gynocracy will blame patriarchy for the elimination of these jobs citing male dominance over women and preventing them from expressing themselves freely. Yet it is gynocentric thinking that initiated the phase out. N.O. M.A.A.M. indeed!

Lol! They can have my exes. Post wall women can be good practice for them. And Al Bundy was the best! Maybe Australia can make the female traffic signals topless. That's what I would do.

What they are starting to get is MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) which stands for simple disengagement from long term relationships and the realization that the game is rigged by big daddy government and gynocentric ideology that has been crammed down our throats for over 50 years.  MGTOW is not even a movement.  It's a reaction to it all.  Three times married here, I was a slow learner and a blue pill man but finally swallowed the red pill.  But at least I learned before it was too late.  (And got a son out of the last marriage, so therefore the woman had a certain utility, shall I say).  Her only utility as far as I am concerned.  Am I bitter?  Hell yeah I am.  But I am allowed to experience the full range of human emotions.  It lessens the further away it appears in my rear view mirror.  Feeling much more at peace and no pressures when I come home at night to serve someone else's ridiculous wants and needs.

I am guessing the car is worth well into 7 figures. Can you imagine that temptation?

If he sell's, I hope it is to someone like FoMoCo who can preserve and share the car with others.

Easily into the 7 figures agreed and quite likely 8 figures.  When it comes up for sale.  Eventually it will. They all do if enough time trickles through the hour glass.

Well gentlemen, the gynocracy is seemingly getting what it wants.  Or is it?  As we inch closer and closer toward extreme third wave and fourth wave feminism, the clock is actually turning back.  The future is...segregation of the sexes.  It's happening all over corporate America now and presumably Europe as well (Australia included as I hear it is particularly bad there with traffic lights being changed to show a walking woman in a dress as opposed to the standard man).  Men are now flocking to all male lunches where women are not invited by co-workers or bosses.  We have the Pence rule where men do not want to be alone in a room with a female employee.  Men are becoming less likely to want to mentor junior female employees due to the potential for baseless accusations at a later date as far down the road as thirty years from now.  These are not rare examples.  It's becoming rampant.  We're going back to the Middle Ages again and feminism is actually destroying all of their so-called gains.  Do I care?  Not one bit.  I've aged out of dealing with any concerns about what makes a woman happy.  I simply don't care.  Have a lovely day all.

My GTH rental from Atlanta Airport to ride the Tail of the Dragon back in March of 2017.  Worth every penny to rent this fun car!

That they did.  But so did "Cadillac" LOL!  I don't know of any Cadillac sold at a dealer that looks anything like that "Cadillac."  Conversely, the Ford GT road car is very similar to the race car and has more horsepower.  The racing version had to be detuned.  Just too damned fast otherwise.  Kind of feel bad for the Corvettes.  Well not really.  LOL!

All points well taken.  I have a friend in Chicago.  He owns a Porsche 911.  We met at Road America to watch the WeatherTech race but he left about half way through because the Ford GT was destroying the Porsches.  I stayed to the end to see the GT win.  We can take it personally so I understand.

The Lounge / How manufacturer resentment is created

My resentment of Chevrolet (which has lessened greatly as I aged, but still won't buy one) started in high school.  My grandmother bought me a 1969 Mustang coupe when I was 14 years old.  It sat, therefore, in the driveway for a good two years before I could drive it.  When I did begin to drive the little red coupe, an automatic with a basic 302 engine, that's when the trouble began.  I loved that car and still miss it.  A guy in my class owned a 69 Camaro with a 396 and I endured unending taunts about my car, unprovoked insults about how Ford was crap and Mustangs were trash.  That was a polarizing moment for me that turned me against Chevrolet.  It was only magnified by another guy who owned a 70 Camaro who joined in with the taunts.  I hurled insults back, but this was my defining moment that made me a die hard Ford guy and considered Chevrolet the enemy.  Not to mention that I lusted after a Shelby Mustang shortly afterward.  I've never had bad feelings about Mopar though and I love Porsches old Mercedes, Lamborghinis and so on.  My father owned a 1946 red Indian Chief motorcycle and said that Harley riders figuratively spat upon him and his Indian.  He sold it for $500 but does look back and reminisces about it every once in a while.  Anyone else with such polarizing experiences.  I mean this is only one of many layers to explain why somebody resents a car brand,

Life altering in all seriousness to those into the Shelby Mustang.  My red has certainly improved the quality of my life.  The car simply makes me happy and that is a prudent goal to pursue in life.

Anyone want to lay odds on what will happen to the Ford GTs if they come in at one and two (which at this point there is a good probability).  I submit that there will be some sort of metoo type witch hunt to try and find some alleged or imagined violation of the rules and the sanctioning body will strip the GTs of their results.  Or in the alternative they will punish Ford and add another boat anchor to the GTs for the next race.  Part of the Ford advantage is the fuel efficiency of their engine.  Twin turbo V6 versus V8.  Go Ecoboooooost!  The Ford GT is so beautiful it should be hammered to a wall in the Louvre.  I see that a Lamborghini Huracan is leading GTD.  Good for Lambo.  I had never imagined them as being successful race cars but they are proving me wrong.  I always liked their cars...
