The SHELBY AMERICAN
Spring 2019 18
Sports Car Market’s
pocket price
guide shows a nice Ford GT on the
cover. Red always attracts the eye.
Ever since Colin Comer has become a
dad he has been sending us eagle eye
sightings of cobra-related toys. We
suppose we should expect no less. The
latest one is the Hot Wheels Cobra
Crush race track.
Brian Walshe gets around as a United
Nations videographer. He has worn
SAAC hats and t-shirts all over the
globe but none has led to a Shelby or
Cobra barn find in the Sahara Desert,
Nairobi, Machu Picchu, Mogadishu or
the Galapagos Islands. Not that he
isn’t looking. His SAAC hat was last
seen in Morocco.
Nick Guisto of Hinsdale, Illinois ran
across this game. We’re not exactly
sure what a Cobra Paw is, except that
everyone who drives a Cobra has one.
Jim Cowles
was watch-
ing
the
U S A n e t -
work’s series,
“Suits,” and he
spotted a framed picture of the 1966
LeMans start hanging in the office of
Harvey Spector, one of the lead char-
acters in the show. Now, THAT’S an
eagle eye!
Got your cobra socks yet? Mark Ter-
lecky of Wayne, Pennsylvanis found
these socks. They are made in Portu-
gal by Heel Tread and the product
name is The Petrolhead Collection.
Cobra is the name of this particular
design, and the color – blue with white
stripes – is right on target. Wonder if
they have Hertz socks – black with
gold stripes?
Can’t afford a Cobra doesn’t mean you
can’t afford a Cobra. Lease one!
These small pop-up ads that appear on
internet pages are really annoying –
except when they have an image of a
Cobra, Shelby or GT40.
