Here is the press release photo for the Cougar II, front and back.

Wonder what the future holds for it? Will it ever run and drive again?

Unique hood and wheels - I would think those would help in tracking it down.

Good luck and thanks for posting that great vintage pic - love those!

Photo taken at the 1967 Autorama World of Wheels show in New York.

Found it at this website:

That vintage Lucas Square 8 advertisement that I posted earlier in this thread is from the August 1970 issue of Car Life magazine.

Here is a marked up photo of the front and back of a take off lens that I think was original to an XR7-G I had.

I'm not sure what this was used on (Calif specials?) but it is a circa 68 also but the clear ENGLAND lens. I bought this one for the early housing.

I believe that is what is often referred to as the "Spot Lense" or "Long Range" version.

See the lower right hand corner of the vintage ad that I posted earlier.

^^^ as Pete said - but FWIW the covers used rubber straps.

Very, very difficult to get the straps around the lights when installed in the G front valance.

Smith Also installed those lights on XR7-G Cougars  ;)

Here is a vintage ad - scanned and cleaned up by me from my stash of vintage magazines and racing programs.

To be fair, the vintage illustrations of the day weren't 100% accurate either.

That's very very sad news - big loss for our hobby.

My heart goes out to his family.

Just when you thought you'd heard it all - Shelby American issued a new serial plate to update a Cobra from a 1966 to a 1967?

Would love to hear more about that!

Great update Pete (as usual).
