Here is a marked up photo of the front and back of a take off lens that I think was original to an XR7-G I had.

Thanks Phillip. I got a pair of lenses that are cracked in 2 off of my old 70  #3052. They are in the attic. I need to pull them out to verify what went on in June of 1969.

The e11 lens was a later  replacement as well as the black cover with the lion on it . England. lens was first the foreign glass then e11 from what i seen . I have an nos foreign glass lens in a june 69 dated box but did any foreign glass lens end up on very late 69-70 shelbys? Phillips lucas add looks like a foreign glass lens so when did that add come out?

Didn't "Made in England " come after the "England " and before the "Foreign Glass " marked lenses ?

MY E11 glass has ENGLAND and not Foreign glass on it. Here is one of them. All lenses in my pics are ENGLAND scripted lenses.

I always thought the same thing. That progression. But could they have been made in France then brought back to England for production? I don't know. I was always under the impression that the ENGLAND lenses were correct for 68-70 Shelbys so the other styles of "Foreign glass", "Made in England" and blank lenses I have had no interest in so never researched.

I'm mad I didn't take a pic of the lenses on that 500 mile Comp red GT500 DP car at MCACN. But the lenses off my June built GT500 DP car were definitely ENGLAND lenses. I went looking for them in my attic and they have eluded me. Both are off the back housings and broken in 2. I hope I didn't toss them.

That vintage Lucas Square 8 advertisement that I posted earlier in this thread is from the August 1970 issue of Car Life magazine.
