The Lounge / Re: Scammers on forum
Last post by Brant - Today at 06:02:54 PM
I'm just bringing this subject to the top.

While it's useful to post "wanted" ads, and some helpful members may respond to your request, you will most likely get a lot of scammers telling you to contact certain email addresses.

Just a reminder to be very careful. It's certainly not limited to this board. It's everywhere.

Quote from: 65GT350dragster on Today at 08:34:22 AMGood call.  I believe the 289 Cobra I reference was upgrade to "Stage III", not Cobra III.

I'm mainly trying to identify the "Cobra I & II" graphics on my Dad's GT350.

Guess, that was an advertisement for the sales of new Cobras, 427 Cobras, and GT350s (second line).

The January 15, 1965 Shelby American parts book there were "COBRA I" and "COBRA II" vehicles. It was very important to tell the parts department what your chassis number was so they knew which parts your car would require. (The race wheels Halibrand created for 427 Cobra as marked "COBRA II" I believe.)

The December 23, 1966 Shelby American parts book there were "Model 1...1963-65" Cobras and "Model 2 in the Cobra series indicates the Cobra 427...".

Since we're covering all the bases  :)  For San Jose built cars we find the plastic cover design used on 65 so in turn the 66 carry overs. There have been some discussions about different patterns possibly used at the other two plants during these time periods

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Gauge wiring help
Last post by Tomdeg - Today at 10:14:28 AM
Awesome! Thanks.
Is the wiring the same for the repro gauge as factory? The repro does not use the cup to mount it and the light socket plugs directly into the gauge. The ground wire ( I'm assuming the bottom lug) does not ground to the outer case, so it would need to be grounded to make the light work
