1966 Shelby GT350 - SFM6S443
Asking price: $275,000

SFM6S443 is one of the most historically significant early-production 1966 Shelby GT350s. This is the last Shelby to ever leave Shelby American with factory ordered Cragar Wheels.

Delivered on December 17, 1965, to Nagle Ford in Rochester, New York, the car was used as a Shelby demonstrator. Documented by SAAC, it is the only factory Sapphire Blue 1966 Shelby GT350 delivered with 15-inch Cragar wheels, Goodyear Blue Dot tires, and Le Mans stripes.

Although not classified as a 1965 1/2 carryover car, SFM6S443 is an exceptionally early 1966 GT350 that retained many of the desirable performance components associated with the 1965 cars, including:

  • Aluminum T-10 4-speed transmission
  • Sand-cast aluminum 1965 "Open Letter" Cobra valve covers
  • 15-inch Cragar wheels
  • Goodyear Blue Dot tires
  • Override traction bars
  • Koni shock absorbers

The car has recently undergone extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration, including a complete engine and transmission rebuild, a show-quality engine bay restoration, and a full under-dash restoration. The engine and transmission work was performed by Cobra Automotive.

Complete engine specifications, dyno sheets, restoration records, SAAC documentation, the original invoice, and unique Shelby American paperwork are included with the sale.

Was the 2026 SAAC-51 1966 GT350 First Place award in the popular vote car show on Sunday? The SAAC Concours doesn't have a first place.

That makes sense. It is a beautifully optioned car and people voted for it because of that. If the assembly line incorrect things I saw under the hood were representative of the assembly line accuracy of the entire car it would not be high scoring in a SAAC concours. Best of luck with the sale.

In SAAC concours, would those LeMans Stripes be a Deduction?

JD

The 2019 '66 SAAC Registry says says it was delivered with LeMans stripes, so I would think - no deduction.
