Shelby350500

1969 Shelby GT 350 with numbers matching drive train with VIN on block.  This Shelby was born March 3rd, 1969.  All factory tags like windshield VIN plate and both door tags are there and are not repro.  This Shelby has factory paint red (Code T), 351 Windsor 4V (Code M with casting date 9A13), aluminum Cobra intake, 4-speed wide ratio (Code 5), 3.25 rear (Code R), power disc brakes, power steering, with black interior (Code 3AA).  This Shelby was painted once carefully, and not painted in the door jams, trunk interior and red parts under the hood---which are gorgeous areas to behold.  Paint looks nice with a few minor flaws...would be just beautiful at any car show.  Original interior in very nice condition with mint original carpet, nice soft seats, clean seat belts, mint rear side panels and decent headliner (except 4 mouse holes at the driver visor area).  There is some minor wear on driver's seat.  Door panels are still soft and beautiful showing no wear.  Doors with no sag close like butter and glass rolls up and down smoothly lining up perfectly when closed.  All glass is nice.  This Shelby looks adult owned its whole life.  No racing crap ever.  All fiberglass (excellent condition) and sheet metal are original to this car. Runs and drives good around my neighborhood.  I bought this car 2 years ago.  The owner before had it since July 1978.  That owner was slowly restoring the car over a long period but got old and traded it in to an exotic car dealership.  That owner died several months later.  I bought it from the dealer soon after the trade.  The complete front suspension, radiator, shifter, hoses/belts, carburetor, power steering, brakes, Shelby rims are all new.  Tires are new, but 10 years old.  I believe the 351 engine was rebuilt but I'm not sure. Engine has new freeze plugs and paint.  Oil pressure is excellent with no exhaust smoke or exhaust leaks. Car sounds darn good with mild cam--runs strong.  Brakes seem ok, but I'd check them out.  I see no rust on this Shelby except minor rust bubbles on pass rear quarter bottom back.  Also,  some minor Bondo on the front part of that same bottom rear quarter.  This is not a rusty car ever.  The closer you look, the better it shows.  Trunk drop offs are clean.  Floors, frames, shock towers and trunk are rust free. The belly could use a soapy wash and wipe off with WD40 to clean up.    It does need the Hurst shifter adjusted; it has jammed several times on me and neutral is notchy. But it shifts good. Clutch is good with smooth pedal action.  Also, the power steering is NOT working, yet it's all shiny new parts top to bottom.  Most things work on it like horns and lights.  A few things may not be working. I'll check if you like.  Chrome is decent but shows some snow.  I believe it's the original chrome.

This is a clean 1969 Shelby and it would be fun to continue its story.  I just don't have time for it.    Call me with any questions or pictures...$90K thanks Rick Barker 301 237 8360
