What are or what did they use to seal this hole. I think it is the antenna grommet on a mustang, but since the antenna is in the back what is used in that hole?

Not typically. They are seldom if ever seen on the long extension coaxial cable used for the PM300 antenna installation that is run differently than a regular Mustang typical antenna and coaxial cable.

I would guess just a small dab of Windshield Putty.  Pinch off a small piece, roll it into a a Ball and press it on.

Not typically blocked that I have seen. If you want to block you will have to improvise a fix.

Here's my car for reference. There was a small plug there.

Believe you will find that the "small plug" is likely the round seal from the base of the antenna cable retainer that was used there. There is a smaller hole in the center where the opaque retainer sticks through as shown in the first picture. The bottom one shows two examples with the retainer/antenna removed but the seal remained. Most of the time it comes out when you yank the cable and retainer but not always on a Mustang/Shelby

Isnt that plug the same as used on 70 mustang taillight buckets and nj package trays among other uses as they had a hollow hole in them to screw over pointed screw end to protect sharp point. These were hard to find till i found a bunch of them at a mopar swap meet back in the 90s as they were used for a weatherstrip screw protector but here are 2 types a hard plastic and a softer rubber type.

Pete i have the small hole plugs and put it on your carlisle list of other parts i am bringing you.  The seal that goes around the white plastic antenna cable wire is a hollow hole black foam circle that helps keep water out of inner kick panel area when pushed into the hole after being installed on a regular mustang. The 69 shelby never used that hole since the cable ran inside the car due to fiberglass fenders so the existing hole had to be plugged to keep water out of the car.
