A professionally built* 1968 EXP 500 Tribute with a stroked 445ci V8 and a C6 Transmission, 9 inch Rear End and Front Disc Brakes.

Located in Colorado. Contact me via this forum or email me at timberdancr@outlook.com

The award* winning car is finished in Highland Green over 2 tone green vinyl upholstery and power comes from its stroked big block paired with the 3 speed automatic transmission.  Features include a Holley four-barrel carburetor, new radiator, front wheel disc brakes, lowered King Springs in front with Eaton leafs in the rear.   15" alloy wheels, GT 500 style front and rear bodywork, Marchal fog lights, a black vinyl top, push button am radio with 8 track as well as the rear quarter panel power antenna.

This car was an original X Code 390 and has had less than 500 miles logged on it since restoration.  It has been stored in a temperature controlled location.  Other features include fender extensions, a fiberglass ram air hood scoop, side air scoops, rear spoiler, dual side mirrors, and white and gold side stripes with EXP 500 lettering.  Under vehicle is detailed and painted.
The 15" cast alloy 10 spoke wheels with Shelby Cobra center caps are mounted on Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T P215/70R15 tires with matched spare.  In addition, period correct Goodyear E70-15 Wide Tread RWL (5) are in reserve (shown on pic).  The interior is reupholstered new and features front bucket seats and rear bench with color coordinated headliner, dash, center console and door panels.  Carpets are fitted with matching floor mats. It has a tilt steering wheel and driver side seat extension for taller operators.  The dash, steering wheel, window cranks and floor mats all have Cobra Jet badging.
The two spoke steering wheel is a restored original and a gauge package is complete on dash and center console.  Total mileage is unknown.  The 445ci was built during the refurbishment and features a 4bbl Holley carburetor, high volume fuel pump, black with silver finned Cobra Lemans valve covers, period correct and stamped Autolite regulator, radiator hoses, Ford belts, etc.  Under hood detailing also includes Ford blue block, intake, original style fittings and functioning air intake from its low profile hood scoop.  In one lapse for personal preference the car was built with the stylish, later model body color side mirrors. VIN: 8F01X196183

This quality restoration has an asking price of $89,000 OBO

Isn't a X code just a 2 barrel 390?

Yes, it was. X denotes the 390 premium fuel 2 barell car. When you see that code you will think its something special!

I'm looking for 9F02M480004. Have you seen it?

And an automatic transmission. No choice for 68 Mustang with that engine option

The "X-code" 390's are somewhat special.  Most came with competition suspension, and the carb is a 500 cfm unit, and the exhaust manifolds are not the "GT 390" ones, and the heads are different with smaller combustion chambers.  They are all auto cars!   Worked on a couple in the past here in So Cal.
