I can state that here in Illinois the title of my 67 GT 350 says 67 Ford. I'm sure the clerk at the dealer had filled
out the form that way.

In April 67 Ford had SA send 1,000 cars to non franchised dealers. I can see those dealer not having a previous dealer relationship with SA to consider those as Fords. SA had inhouse coding to mark invoices for whether the car was sold by a non franchised dealer.
These were found by the Shelby Research Group.

My '68 CA is titled as SHELB and has the full Ford plus Shelby sequence number.
