Anybody have any first or second hand experience, good or bad, with Caramel, the escrow service that's being used on BaT, and now on eBay, to facilitate private party auto sales?

Probably another reason you should not use auctions. I have a car on BAT now and I hope they buyer dose not choose it...

Was a two week delay due to "paperwork issues", the seller and I decided to abandon their service and just due a straight deal. 24 hours later and we were both satisfied, transportation scheduled, and paperwork overnighted to me. Simple, easy, straight forward as it had always been prior to the internet.

Instead of being part of the problem, be part of a successful solution.

A Buddy of mine sold his 65 GTO at a local Auction through Rupp's Auction.  Sold on May 24th, he was finally paid mid June.  They kept claiming glitches in the system.  I think they just wanted to earn as much Interest on the Money as possible.

Thanks, guys.  I like the idea, but it sounds like there are still some bugs.  Maybe eBay will straighen it out...they've only owned it a few months.

If eBay owns it, it will continue to make them as much money as possible compared to being more convenient for the buyers/sellers.
