I have a set of original 67 GT500 bottom leaf springs and was hoping to confirm the date.  The springs are both stamped identically as follows

C7ZA

5556AM

730 - is this day 30 of 1967?

Is there anything after the 730?    Mine have 297 and 298 but followed by E6.   This indicates 297th and 298th day of 1966.   Yours could be E6 or E7 depending on which year manufactured.   I believe the E is the manufacturer, Eaton.

Could very well mean 30th day of 67.   Would this correspond with the build date of the car?

How is the spring stamped. Crosswise or in line with the length of the leaf?

Given what you have provided so far I'm guessing they are not stamped 67350#1242 posted

Also that they are "AR" springs   ::)  Should have looked at the initial posting  :-[

Is the "730" very clear?

Hi Jeff

Stamping is inline with length of spring and they are "AM"

Sounds like you have the non-typical rear springs for San Jose. We do see examples of this other company on cars built at the other two plants and they have shown up on a few San Jose cars. As we can see the stamping/date coding is formated differently from the Eaton springs

Based on information collected there apparently there was at least a pallet of these springs from the other supplier that arrived at San Jose just before your cars and others that were built that week as I've got records of identical markings and coding
