A recent conversation with a friend asked if I knew if there was a point deduction for LeMans stripes since they were built without them from SA. Didn't know the answer. What is the answer?

A recent conversation with a friend asked if I knew if there was a point deduction for LeMans stripes since they were built without them from SA. Didn't know the answer. What is the answer?

Yes there typically is a deduction for the reasons mentioned. Of course if a owner could come up with reasonable proof of application prior to delivery to the first customer when new then a pass could be given. However I haven't seen that in over 30 years of judging but I suppose it could happen.

  Just adding: Bob is correct, but that is in SAAC or MCA concours events.  Others might overlook it.
