Ponysite does have the Wolfe/Cantwell date wrong it was 9-18-66. The Riverside 4 hour when Ford pulled out all the stops to win the first Trans Am title. Take a look at the drivers list. They even let Al Dowd behind the wheel - or was it just hey give me a name for the entry.

I must agree about the homage to the Ray Wolfe car. To me, this car captures the intended spirit of the '65 GT-350s...even though it is not a GT-350!
That the car, or its remains, may still be out there unidentified, yet so integral to the DNA of SAI and HPM further adds its élan.
(as my car sits at McCluskey LTD basically being over-restored after 50+yrs of being a day-two driver - - yikes)

Just a heads up the publishers edition is limited to 150 copies. The publishers edition is signed by the two authors plus other members of the Shelby team. The Shelby GT 350 book that Chuck Cantwell released several years ago is very very difficult to obtain now. If this book is of interest, I would suggest ordering it sooner rather than later.

The edition with the red car on the cover is the publishers edition. It's numbered and signed and limited to 150 copies according to the website. The edition with the yellow car on the cover is the standard edition. The publishers edition is $175 while the standard edition is $100. Again this is according to the website.

..if you read it again, my page just said September 4hour race, not September 4th..:-)
Anyway Greg gave me some insight in 2024 to this special race when researching the subject. A few things in sorting out the Pike/Peck cars and showed me a number of great pics of the Sept 18th 4 hour race, which will be certainly in the book. I intended to wait for the publication in 2025, good to hear it is finally out in December 26. Looking forward to it.
Ponysite is rather a continous research lab and connects owners and researchers and helps in the background to collect missing data ...occasionally. No competition to a book.
At least we (mostly contributors) will have 67 #19 soon as a new rare find, once the owner has a major publication out. Thanks to Kranky for helping with his unlimited records here as well.
