The 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. General admission tickets start at $495 $650 if you just show up the day of.

A far cry from when you could just wander in with the cars at 5-6 am with the fog retreating from the golf course.

Thanks - amazing variety of cars. In Illinois, we have the Geneva Concourse show. It is free and takes over the whole downtown. They do accept some quality Shelbys and muscle cars. Apparently, they believe that people will enjoy the exotic cars of yesteryear, but may relate better to cars from the 60's and 70's. This formula must be working as the audiences are huge. I have had countless people say to me "I had a Mustang once- sure wish I had kept it". Here is my 135 series Cobra Jet.

My car is Vin 135032. There were problems with the 50 cars (wheel hop & high oil temps) so my car was held back to find solutions. It was sold by accident so it was mine for $2393. It sat for 45 years- now a show car-original paint and owner. Lots of fun to show it. Thanks

Thank you for the link. New Mustang knowledge. Funny how certain dealerships obtained the cars.

Ford had a BIG drag program and encouraged dealers to sponsor cars. Russ Davis was our local sleepy dealer. The owners kid talked Gas Ronda into coming there. Gas was happy to move since he would be closer to Les Ritchey's Performance Associates shop who was maintaining the cars he ran at Downtown Motors.

It's not an in period motor. They call it a Windsor small block. I suspect 351 starting point. I saw it at a show once but the hood was shut and no one was around. It runs good enough to be a Cleveland  ;D

Found some shots on FakeBook: "Ernie the Attorney Racing - It's a 440. HP is over 1000"
Dyno sheet says 940 @ 7400

He also had this shot of Miles sneaking out of work - with the AC on......

Ernie (my little brother) is a Ford racer and his car is a Ford race car. His racing world is unconcerned with the sometimes obtuse world some of us here (including myself) have immersed ourselves in of contrived ancient 'originality'.
Entirely different crowd, yet 100% Blue Oval, and these guys lay it down.
To the engine: 440 cid alloy built around 10 degree CFE heads. Dave Lyall and Chris Holbrook are his brain trust/colleagues.
1000 on Chris' dyno, single Dominator on Q16.
BTW, Ernie was a regular at COCOA/Orange County back in the 70s (prior to the creation of SAAC) w his high school first car: a '64 HiPo K code Sport Coupe!

(pic#2 a diff, preceding motor. SVO iron blk, Edl peanut port hds, 850hp)

I'm amazed how these "old" look drag cars are all current 21st century underneath. The 66 Fairlane has always been one of my favorite cars. My neighbor was Paul Althouse a noted Chevy guy who ran a big tire Camaro. I wish his kid would sell it to me (I'm cheap and so is Chevy HP). Last time they had it out he broke the trans and it's just been sitting for almost 10 years.
I must have met Ernie back in the day I joined COCOA in 75 and was president in the 80s. I suspect he and Randy Gillis were off in the corner talking drag racing since by that time like most of COCOA we were into road racing.
Lately I've been playing with getting 200+ hp out of Model A engines for the RPM & Antique Nationals. Currently a Riley 4 port. 2 intakes in the head and exhaust valve still in the block. T5 trans 9" Ford rear in a 26 T Roadster. About 7.8 in the 1/8th - we might go to Famosa next year for the 1/4. We've run Barona the last 2 years since they closed Irwindale.
