Authentic Engineering Stamping: The inner base channel is crisp and deeply factory-cast with the official identifier code:

Date-Coded Assembly Glass: The outside edge of the mirror face features the ultra-faint, factory-etched inspection script reading "J - AX", confirming its original assembly-line glass pedigree.

Original Wired Shipping Tag: Still physically wired to the mounting stalk is the flawless, original vanilla Ford Motorcraft Service & Parts Division tag, reading: FPS - 718 S&D MAR 75.

Condition Note:
This mirror is a spectacular survivor. The factory chrome housing and base are in gorgeous, bright, high-luster condition with only a minor hint of light age micro-pitting on the hidden underside of the mounting foot from sitting for decades in storage.

The original date-coded glass is bright and clear, featuring one single, minor, light vintage surface scratch.

Rather than risking a polish or scratch removal that could mar the glass, I am leaving it 100% original as found out of the barn.

These were shipped in boxes. Pitting is typical of the take off ones I seen. At least the guy attached the gasket to the mirror so they didn't get separated.

Often left to the dealership to do if required or wanted, dealership or first buyer, just like Mustangs and other cars of the period. There was at least one, likely a few more, that got mirrors at SA, possibly cars assigned to specific important people as drivers like in other years. At least one example is visible in the pictures of at the open house event SA held.
