Why redact the Ford VIN now? It's in the internet archive forever. Sans a Howard letter the Ford VIN is some assurance it's a real car.
What's the guesstimate to derust the car? $150,000-200,000 and "several years". What will it be worth in several years? Will the bottom drop out a month before it's finished?

Any gamblers here?

I find it very interesting that BaT buyers are giving this car the @n@l exam and let other years sell for ridiculous amounts when they have tag issues.

    It's difficult to judge the overall behavior of the crowd and their "actual" reception to a listing, this because is seems that BAT is becoming more and more a participant in guiding the auctions, through what they refer to as "reviewing" and not posting and then just "removing" comments that might not participate in supporting a narrative.  And this intervention effort is particularly notable for their "favored" Sellers/Partners where at times it's more of a case of a gilding of the product!

It's always head scratching to me when a "dealer" (oh I'm sorry, local partner or whatever they call them...) on BaT has a car/Mustang/Shelby for sale and they are not very knowledgeable in the car they are consigning!  The red 65 Gt Vert currently on there has been a bit of a circus also!

Remember a lot of us took our Shelby's apart in the early 70's to do them over. Not like restorations are done today . SAAC was just starting to keep notes on our cars back then. I took the tag off of mine to give them the Ford Vin.I remember when they were redoing the tags . I had other things to do so I put it away so I could clean up the engine comp. Move ahead 40n years an the ol brain isn't as good as it was back then. I kept all the contents in the glove box. One was a California map. Was a good home for it at the time.
