Is there a current source for getting a replacement Transmission tag for a '66 GT350 - T-10 unit? (it's a low 20XX VIN number car.)  Trying to help a buddy his tag is MIA.

I am confused.  Did the later GT350's with manual transmission T-10's come with a tag?  Maybe the cast iron versions?  My understanding is that the earlier cars did not.  The automatic transmission GT350's came with PCW-BA tag.  What am I missing?

Thanks

'66 Mustangs with the BW 4sp would normally have a tag, HEK-AD if I remember right.

Hi Charles,  you memory is still good.  At least your BW tag number HEK-AD matches Mustang Tek for 1966 Mustang.  I expect that is the wide ratio.  A late 1966 GT350 would have the cast iron main body and tail housing and should have the close ratio gears, 2.36-1.62-1.20-1.00 as the aluminum T-10M1.  Mustang Tek does not ID a 1966 tag for this application, suggesting there is no tag.  Mustang Tek also shows the BW T10's for 1965 GT350 and COBRA with no ID tag.

So JD, I think it is fair to say, the transmission ID tag for 20XX is not MIA.  It was never there.  You just saved a few bucks.

I would be interested to see an original tag on a T10 from any '66 GT350.

I've never seen one with a tag...early or late.
