SAAC Carolinas 2026 Spring Event

 

Can't you just feel the excitement brewing?  We are but a mere 21 days away from our much anticipated SAAC Carolinas Spring Event!  It is occurring on:

Saturday, May 9th, 2026

at the easily accessible:      Gibson Mill, in Concord, NC.

We will be starting around 8:00 am (though earlier is just fine) and quitting around 2:00 pm. 
It is an excellent opportunity to show the common folk what masterful machines old Carroll Shelby produced during those years of peace, love and drugs.  But seriously, Tom is also holding his regularly scheduled cars and coffee event at the Mill, but since being a member has its privileges, we will be sectioning off an area just for our group.
 
To gain access to the SAAC Carolinas members only section you must know the secret code:

"Ferrari's ass is mine."

For those unfamiliar with where Gibson Mill is, the address is:

There is ample room for trailer parking in the rear and as mentioned in the previous email, there are multiple places to satiate your palate when the time is right.  I can't wait to see you there, just stop by 'Scarlett' and say hi. 

 

Also, a friendly reminder for us car guys that can more easily recall the date Ford beat Ferrari at Le Mans than the day we were married, the next day, Sunday May 10th, is Mother's Day.  Don't forget!

Besides it would cost me a small fortune in gasoline, 11 MPG in the car with high test, and if I trailer it 6mpg in the truck of regular it would be an 8 hundred mile round trip.

I've prepped 2642 for the 2.5 hour drive up with the top down of course, if the weather holds that is.

Just another reminder that our spring event is coming up fast! If you have a Shelby, a cobra replica or anything blue oval related or are a fan of Shelbys, please make the effort to come out on Saturday, May 9th.

 It's in a fantastic location, and the wives will have an amazing time walking through the antique shops while the guys will enjoy going to Tom Cotter's vintage car dealership. It's really quite a sight to see. He has a nice set up there, including huge amounts of room to store vehicles if anybody needs in the off-season.

There are multiple places to eat, and the weather is supposed to be fantastic. Anybody who is planning to come out that day please reply to this if you can, we want to try and get some excitement going.

I sold 6S1545 to Dan in Illinois in 1979 and he sold it to Bill B. (Hilton Head Island) in 1985. If you happen to see #1545 or Bill at your Spring Event I would love to hear about it. A picture would be great!
