Only in my dreams I could build such an engine (any engine) by myself. There is an incredible amount of knowledge, skill and talent to do this work. I highly respect anyone who carries with them this talent.

I like the one piece rear main seal. I wonder if that is usable in a 289 hipo block?

    We have done the machining for this conversion many times so yes, generally . . . . but sometimes the remaining casting material about the periphery of the seal relief gets a little thin!   

    I really don't see the need for this, as we really haven't had any real notable problems with the "two-piece" seal design.
