Yes exciting sale. Seem that the auction house was taking a little more time for most cars today and there were multiple bidders in the room that helped push the SAAC 50 Concours winning 66 GT350H to what I believe is a new worlds record. So far, the top selling classic Shelby at this years BJ auction.

Not sure what the final cost works out to for the buyer but sure someone will do the math for us :)

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

1966 SHELBY GT350-H

Powered by a matching-numbers 289ci Hi-Po V8 engine with original drivetrain.

Completed April 18, 1966; delivered to Shelby's High-Performance Motors and served as a Hertz LAX Rent-A-Racer. Concours-restored in 2025 and awarded Premier status at SAAC-50.

This 1966 Shelby GT350-H, serial number SFM6S1618, is powered by its matching-numbers 289ci High-Performance V8 engine with its original drivetrain.

The car was completed on April 18, 1966, and delivered to Carroll Shelby's High-Performance Motors in El Segundo, CA, for dealer preparation before being assigned to the Hertz Los Angeles Airport Agency for rental use.

It was sold in August 1967 and remained in Phoenix, AZ. A concours restoration began in March 2024 using primarily restored original or NOS components and was completed in 2025 under the direction of the SAAC Head Judge for 1966 Shelbys, with the goal of creating the most accurate GT350-H restoration to date.

At SAAC-50 in Sonoma, CA, #1618 earned the Premier Award in Division 2, the highest honor in Shelby concours judging, and remains the only 1966 GT350 to receive this distinction.

I think I still have a white pair in the gasket pile - worth digging out?
