Merry Christmas

Florida's new law (effective Oct 1, 2025) bans anything blocking license plates, including frames, tints, clear covers, or stickers, making them second-degree misdemeanors with up to $500 fines/jail, to ensure legibility for law enforcement and cameras; frames are allowed only if they don't cover numbers, decals, or "Sunshine State" text.

Police prioritize education but will enforce against intentional obstructions, covers, or devices designed to hide plates, with harsher penalties for criminal use

What's Banned:

License Plate Frames: Any frame that covers letters, numbers, the state name ("Sunshine State"), or registration decals.

Tinted/Clear Covers: Any shield or cover that affects visibility or legibility.

Sprays/Coatings/Reflective Material: Substances that obscure the plate.

Devices: Gadgets to flip or hide plates (possession/sale is also illegal).

What's Allowed (with conditions):

Basic frames are okay only if they fit around the plate's border and don't overlap any characters, the "Sunshine State" text at the bottom, or the registration sticker.

Penalties (House Bill 253):

Obstructing/Altering: 2nd-degree misdemeanor (up to 60 days jail, $500 fine).

Selling/Manufacturing Concealment Devices: 1st-degree misdemeanor (up to 1 year jail, $1,000 fine).

Using Device in Crime: 3rd-degree felony (up to 5 years prison, $5,000 fine).
When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
