My friends uncle has owned 6s1385 for decades. It's been a northern car it's entire life but Unfortunately, it's sat in his garage and my friend has interest in getting in back on the road again. He told me the car has a tow hitch on the back and there are stories that this car was used to tow a cobra to races.

I remember seeing another photo here or somewhere else and I wonder if that's the same car? The photos or events would be from NorCal or possibly SoCal. Any help would be much appreciated.

I hope you find your evidence. It was relatively common for owners to put trailer hitch's on their Shelby or Mustang back in the 60's early 70's. I lost count of how many times I found the two trailer hitch holes covered up or patched over back behind the gas tank on Shelby's and mustangs that I have owned or worked on. I hate to admit it but I added one to my 67 GT500 back in 72 shortly after I bought it.

That brings back a memory Bob! I yo thought about a trailer hitch on my '67 GT500 for my Cobra back in 1968. Decided against it as trailer was little more expensive than I thought. Shortly after sold both !

Looks through my collection and it appears I never got pictures of it. No specific 66 stands out in my memory just using the tow hitch. You didn't happen to mention what color and what transmission it was at the time it was on the street in NorCal. That might help a lot with the hitch feature
