Photos from the MCA show held last weekend in Fredericksburg. I went Friday and Saturday, these photos are from Friday. Fair number of Shelbys and a bunch of Bosses and 428 Mach 1s. Probably 350-400 cars total, good balance between new and old.

Philip,
Sorry you didn't make it- was too close to you to not have been there. Anyhow, a few more photos.

So a simple question here: A guy is selling a very nice 69 CJ Mach1 that was judged there. He is selling it as a car that won gold. Won't answer anything else. Si the car from just 2 pics provided would have enough points deducted where it wouldn't win concours driven gold. Missing smog, s tube heat shield. appears to be an AL rad in it. Magnums radial tires. 70 rear wing plus louvers front spoiler and wheel lip moldings. Is the judging lax enough for a car to have a 70 rear wing on it and no points? No smog, heat shield or S tub and wrong radiator. Would that along be enough deduction to not win gold alone? I was knocked 5 points alone for tires years ago.  Again, just 2 pics pointed out these deductions. Is there a street driven class where correctness means nothing but the over all quality can get you a gold? Thanks.
Shelby owner since 1984

Yes, I believe they just give gold, silver and bronze awards in each of the classes now (and MCA has a bunch of them)

No there is not a concours driven class where correctness means nothing.  Of course he could be lying. You may want to have him prove that he got that gold award at that National Show with that car.

Occasionally Driven Class is judged for cleanliness and workmanship. Originality/Correctness is not taken into consideration. The majority of the cars at the show were in this category. Their is also a Daily Driver class that allows for more wear and tear (mostly for the newer cars). Ask them to provide the judging sheets. A nice clean car can win gold.

For clarification the Occasionally driven class and concours driven class are two different class's . One doesn't take originality into account and the other does. Shelbymann1970 first asked about  "the car from just 2 pics provided would have enough points deducted where it wouldn't win concours driven gold." and later asked about street driven class. Two different phrases that are relevant to two different class's.
