1967 Deck Lid Light

Hello SAAC - Can anyone suggest a source for obtaining a correct 1967 deck light for my early 1967 GT 500? (car #327) I believe it is part #C7ZB-13A756-A

Hi and we could answer your question with a question...are you certain that the car had one? If you could post a picture of the left side trunk lid hinge/underside of the trunk lid we can confirm it.

+1  . It only take one that didn't come with one to ruin the "ALL" claim. It would be more accurate for the Shelby research group to say that the steel innerstructure trunk lids typically came with a light. It was later production steel innerstructure trunklid cars built during the change over to all fiberglass hoods and trunklids were it was more likely for one to get skipped. At least from the observations that myself and others have made.

Seems this topic came up in passed (crashed/lost) topic on the forum, seems there were some metal panels sent/provided to the fiberglass deck lid suppliers that didn't have the hole for the light and (I may be mis-remembering here) but some that had the hole for the light unit on the left and some on the right side of center.

Would like to see pictures of the trunk lid on # 327  If you read what the SRG topic says it mentions a production time for this rare part, and clearly states that the steel frame is different....easy to also think your trunk lid is a replacement, We are just verifying things so you don't chase a unicorn. Hope you understand this reasoning.

Every 1967 Cougar had that trunk light, and most 1968 Cougars did also. If I needed one of those I would contact West Coast Classic Cougars. The 1967 version is slightly different than the 1968 version so specify which part you need.

I with JD about a few cars did not get them, mine included. But Bob pointed out a few years ago to look at the screw hole. Does it look like a screw was ever in there?
  So, West Coast Cougars is one place I too would check eith. Otherwise check Ebay,often.

Just to clarify a few points: The cougar part will work and is easy to find-however the wire feed to the bulb will be long because it is for a coupe/convertible type of trunk lid. It also will not have the correct stamping number on the socket base. If you want this type new NPD offer Alloy Metal Products excellent reproduction for $63.00
As another point:this is a unique part for a Fastback trunk lid which makes it scarce.
It is also crutial to have the plastic ring and the locator for the harness to secure it
To the metal frame.Without these parts you are inviting a short circuit. Also would still like a picture of # 327 trunk lid to verify things.
