Looking for the leather covers, fobs, placemats, thingies or what ever you call them for the top of the 1966 Hertz Shelby seat belts.

Many of us go to a leather store like Tandy Leather and source the leather . I would suggest taking one with you to compare to while you pick out and cut to size. Tandy has stores in FL. Sorry I am not familiar with the people that provide ready made.

Bob is right.
My original belt fobs on my 66 were getting tattered and I went to Tandy, they had leather
scraps they sell and I found some exactly the same thickness as the originals. Using the
old ones as a pattern I cut the new ones then lightly buffed the finished side of the leather with fine
steel(4000) wool to accept the black stain then sealed that side. Then I did not like the new leather look
on the other side of the fob , so I stained that side to match the aged look of the originals, I did not seal that side. The original rivets are available, it takes a tool to install them. Tandy sells the dyes you need.
Mine look like 1966 again.

I bought some premade with the correct rivets from Jim Cowles at Shelby Parts & Restoration about 6 years ago.  Not sure if they still sell them, but easy to check with Jesse.

I receive a call from JC advising me that he has found a shop near his place of work that may be  able to replicate the seat belt fobs or covers

He picks up the samples and takes them to the owner Juan.

Juan walks over to the SCRAP and pulls out a piece of leather and hand cuts it to kinda sorta the size.

Ten minutes later juan has cut and reinstalled the new items on the seat belts using the original attaching studs.

What a genius!
