Some quality time

Some of you guys know me, some don't, I have been a BOSS 302 guy for over 40 years. The love of the BOSS runs deep.

Recently a friend of mine asked me to help him with a couple of maintenance items on his 1966 GT350H. While we were working together on the car I have been lucky enough to have it visiting with me. Visiting means I get to take a detailed look at the car and spend some quality time with it.

It has also helped me to appreciate the Shelby for what it is. My BOSS car are jealous because I realized I have not spent as much time with them as I have been spending with the Shelby.

Oh, of course I have spent the time with the BOSS cars over the years, but maybe I have been less than obsessed with the BOSS Mustangs than the slender, slightly smaller visitor that is currently visiting.

I hope that every one of you takes the opportunity to spend time with your Shelby. You see the cars at car shows and don't have the time to get as in depth as when it is sitting in the garage and you get to look it over on your schedule.

Now I want one......

An early one.....

Or maybe a Carryover....

But now that I have had the opportunity to spend some quality time with the car, I know why I would choose to have a 1966 over a 1965 Shelby GT350. For the people who prefer a non-Hertz car over a Hertz car I don't get it. Either one is fine, plenty of Hertz cars that were not born with a four speed have been changed over. Either way....

Thanks for letting me share, it's leaving soon and I want to spend more time with it.

Bye for now.

I understand where you are coming from.  I owned a '70 Boss 302 in the early 70's.  Really loved that car, from the looks, sound, and performance.  However, having owned 2 GT-350's for 30 plus years, I have to say I like the Shelbys better.  Not to say, if I sold one of the Shelbys, a '70 Boss 302 would be high on the list.

The 1970 BOSS 302 would be most likely the one that I would sacrifice, the 1969 1/2 BOSS 302 would not be. I can look at that car for hours, that cars style and look is my absolute favorite...

I had the chance to buy a Black/Gold GT350H in the 80s but then my first BOSS 429 followed me home. If I knew then what I know now I would not have chased the big inch BOSS cars.
