Back in the early 80's I owned "TALLAHASSEE MUSTANG'S" where I parted out 65-73 Mustangs. Several times I sold the complete inner structure from the Shock Towers Forward to Body Shops repairing Mustangs that were Pole Shots.  When they were done, you couldn't tell they replaced any of it, could that have happened here?

With the evidence provided, it would seem that it has definitely suffered a frontal paralysis at one point in its life

Before this thread spirals out of control any more let me add some info. I know the car and have worked on it. Don Peeler still owned it last I knew. I also know previous owner Tim Brillhart. Car was entered in SAAC concours judging in mid 2000's and did not receive any award. Rodney, you, Gary and Mike judged it. Original poster, contact me directly and I can probably clear any mystery up for you as well as put you in touch with Don

Quote from: sc4248 on June 05, 2025, 11:37:52 PMI don't mind buying it as a clone at a clone price.
If it's titled with a Shelby VIN and it has a normal Mustang VIN on the unibody it's not a clone it's fraud and the cops can scoop it up when they become aware of the VIN tampering. Basically there are 2 cars with the same VIN and one will end up being seized and scrapped.

At this point he has no skin in the game. He would be the informant that could possibly need to testify in court. There could be 2 possible outcomes for a buyer. The car is seized if VIN tampering is uncovered during an inspection to register the car in another state. The owner pays "real" Shelby price for a fake car. In both of these the recourse for the buyer is to sue the seller for his money back - a long and expensive process. Best to walk away.
Now if I were the owner of the REAL car I would be contacting the PD and DMV where the car is located to advise them of the fraud - protecting the value of his car is vital to him. Emailing a scan of the title and photo of the real car and VIN to the PD should be all that is needed.

This car (owner name) sounded vaguely familiar, but I don't recall much about of it now. They all start to blend together these days.
