Ford said on Thursday 12-21-23 that half of all 1,550 Ford dealers chose to sell electric vehicles in 2024—down from two-thirds that said this time last year that they would opt in to sell EVs for 2023.

"EV adoption rates vary across the country, and we believe our dealers know their market best," Ford spokesman Martin Günsberg told the Detroit Free Press.

Ford's experiment in failure from the word go.  Worse debacle than the Edsel.  At least the Edsel was a decent car.

I remember one of the big obstacles to Mustang was that Ford was still in recovery mode from losing 25 million on the Edsel (and the less public failure of their Continental division). They were leery to spend the money to develop a new type/look that there was no sales track record for.
