Today in 1901, Henry Ford Raced and Won his only race; the results established the Henry Ford Motor Company and changed the world as we know it!

A Company Founded on Racing that continues to innovate with racing

     But,..........Henry Ford abandoned this, his second motor vehicle business venture the "Henry Ford Company" in 1902; which then was reorganized into the Cadillac Automobile Company, by none other than Henry Leland, who then at a later date post WWI created the Lincoln Motor Company, which in 1922 was absorbed into the Ford Motor Company, Henry Fords' third motor car company venture!

How fast were those cars going in that second pix?

If it hasn't been retouched beyond all original recognition, I'd guess (judging by the dust plumes off the tires) at least 35-40 mph.  The flag is blowing straight out, so it was a breezy day.
