One question that never seemed to get answered - is the non-black rivet aluminum or steel?

Thanks
The very early cars used aluminum rivets but transitioned to black anodized later. Like most things that transitioned we don't have a hard line in time just a approximate .

Hi all,
Just inspected and measured as .258" o.d. and 3/16" long- silver aluminium. Appears to be a common style
rivet...hope this helps. The important thing is it stays with the car,REGARDLESS of the type of rivet.

Here are examples from 6 unrestored cars out of a few hundred that appear not to have been replaced or where the car was messed with or are rebodies/reconstructed ::)
