Concours Talk / SAAC-51 Concours Registration ...
Last post by CharlesTurner - August 04, 2026, 01:13:05 AM
There's still time to enter SAAC-51 concours!  So far we have every year represented except for '66.

While it will likely be hot in Atlanta, SAAC has rented a 100x20 tent with 40' of that for concours.  We will be able to judge cars under the tent and SAAC is selling the other 6 spots.

Great opportunity to have your car judged by some of the most knowledgeable Shelby experts in the world!

Up here in Canada, the cars were just that much more expensive. An old friends father was the sales manager for a local Ford/Shelby dealership. He told me his dad hated the high performance cars. They were expensive, and very slow to move through inventory.
I have told this story before here, when I bought my new 71 Mustang at his dealership, they had three 70 Boss 9's leftovers. Two grabber green/black, one pastel blue/black. In 71, $6,500! Twice the price of my 71. Could not move them. If only.

Wow thanks... that is great info.

Was the 1x4v lid 'factory Shelby/Buddy Bar" or fabricated? I was gonna see if my single Cross-Boss lid would work.

So a LeMans cam probably would not be enough to fill the plenum till 3500 rpm?

Sounds like I need some better heads too.

Have vintage road raced one for years. Single 780 double pumper with both accelerator pumps 50cc, big cam, 2000 to 8500rpm no issues, below 2000 need to baby it. Needs a lot of pump shot. I love the thing, it just sings! On the street might disappoint. A duel plane would be a better choise, even a single plane.
