Gwenn and I are saddened to hear of Miki's loss. We always enjoyed seeing her at SAAC Conventions, and appreciated her help at Merchandise.
We send our love to Kei and family and hope that your many good memories will carry you through these difficult times.

I'm on my third set of tires on my 2020 GT350. I have 8,500 miles, with probably 15 track days.
I have never had any complaints with my tires, they handle quite well.

So sad to hear this news.

Jeff was one of the great ones, both with regard to SAAC, and as a human being.
My first recollection of Jeff was at Indy in 1994. I believe he was working in tech, and had a hat with a fake pony tail hanging off the back. But I did not realize the pony tail was fake, and when I saw him the next day, he was not wearing that hat, and I was so confused, wondering why he had cut off his pony tail.
I have had many discussions with him since.

He will be sorely missed.

I want to emphasize what Ron said earlier in this thread.

"(...and always could use some member contributions! ..send to: saac@saac.com)"

As you all know, the Quarterly magazine does not write itself. SAAC is always looking for reader contributions. Whether it's EELH, owner's stories, or articles about local events, send the info in. You don't have to be a professional writer. Send in an article with two or three photos, and you will most likely see it in an upcoming Quarterly.

SAAC-49 / Re: Attending My First SAAC Event SAAC-49

Benny,
Glad you are coming, it's a huge commitment.

Stop by the merchandise tent and introduce yourself, I'll be there. Other people you mentioned will be working at other areas.

Think about volunteering somewhere for an hour or two. You will get to meet more people that way than you will by just wandering around, (although you will have plenty of time for that also).

Best of luck in your travels.

We are still collecting photos (see posting info above).

The registry is currently being edited and the editor and Registrar are working very closely together to get the job done efficiently, accurately and effectively. Editing the details of 3,295 cars is no small feat.

We will send out an email when the book goes to the publisher, and give you the opportunity to pre-purchase the Registry.

By the way, if you are an owner of a 1969 or 1970 GT350 or GT500 and you have not recently updated the Registrar with info about your car, do it now, or it will not be included in the current registry. If you want to upload pictures of your 1969 or 1970 Shelby Mustang, you can do so here:

https://alphawebapps.com/saac_images/home.a5w

Password for this site is saac2022
You will not be creating an account, so you will not have the opportunity to edit or delete any pictures that you upload. If you have any issues, concerns or questions about this site, please email me at membership@saac.com

Thanks for your patience. It will be rewarded.

I, from 1st hand experience, support Bob's advice. After waiting for about 6 weeks for an earlier SAAC Annual, or Registry, I contacted Jay to let him know I didn't get it. He sent the Annual or the Registry and included a note addressing the situation, and I expect you will receive the same level of service. Jay does a great job supporting this club.

Steve

Thank you for your kind words, Bob and Steve. We want every current member to receive the Annual in great condition, and we always address issues that are brought to our attention. Due to Covid-19, our crystal ball has been foggy, and we are not able to discern who received an Annual in good condition, and who did not. We are leaving it to you to let us know when an Annual arrives damaged.

Write me at membership@saac.com, include your name and correct mailing address and we will remedy the issue.

Thanks for your support of SAAC.

"Management" has sent you a replacement shirt without asking for a return.  I hope his meets with your approval.

Now, can we find another topic to discuss?  Have a safe weekend.

As of today, March 17, 2020 SAAC has NO plans to postpone, cancel or modify SAAC-45 at Indy.
If we do cancel the event, it will most likely be because we are forced to by the track or by a third party (I'm looking at you Gov. Holcomb).
An eblast will go out tonight with this same statement.

And if you have not yet registered for the convention, go to www.saac45.com  and register. We hope to see you there.

News from HQ / SAAC Members Only Web site change
January 13, 2020, 04:44:58 PM
If you go onto the Members Only site using saac.memberlodge.com, you may notice that the URL changes in your browser to https://saac.wildapricot.org/

THIS IS THE NEW URL FOR THE SAAC MEMBERS ONLY SITE, the site HAS NOT been hijacked, nor is there a problem. This is intentional, correct, and SAAC is aware of this.

Wild Apricot has always hosted the members only site, but since they upgraded their security, the site is now https protected.

Nothing else has changed, your user name and password remain the same. If you want to get on the site but cannot remember your password, there is a link there to reset your password. Please use that link.

And please, when you write to the membership office, have the courtesy to give us your name, and if necessary, your current mailing address. We hate searching our records when we get an email that says, "When is my membership due?" in the subject and nothing else. I know your time is valuable, and so is mine. With almost 3,000 members, this volunteer job is almost like a full time job, so please help me to help you.

Thanks,
Jay Talbott

News from HQ / Re: Registry pages falling out
January 13, 2020, 04:34:38 PM
Rocket (Ron),
I have no idea who you are, but SAAC would like to make the issue right.
Please send an email to curt@cobraautomotive.com with your name, current address, and your reason for writing.

As you can understand, SAAC board members are volunteers, and do not monitor the forum. We are always accessible via email membership@saac.com
The issue is compounded by the fact that when someone has a concern, they do not give us a name or email address, so the only way I can respond is here on the forum. Now there is another step involved: you writing to Curt. So the ball is back in your court.

Nice idea, don't get your hopes up, SAAC is a ship adrift in the ocean.....

If you think SAAC is a ship adrift, why don't you offer to improve the organization that has been supporting these cars for the last 45 years instead of throwing rocks from afar?
