theCoralsnake.com has an April update

Pictures from the factory and from the engineering department. Take a look at the 1967 Fuel Injected Shelby GT500. I am going to bet you have never even heard of that car!!!

Also an article on the tricky 1968 DSO codes.

Best of all it's free and no advertising.  I'm not selling coffee or lawn care products, I'm focused on the cars.

Today, after you have appreciated this glorious Easter take a minute and stop by.

Disclaimer: This is not an indictment of the owner, the people working on the car or anything other than an educational tool.

We often suggest people look at cars before they buy them or have an "expert" check them out. Here is a car that sold fairly recently at Mecum. I can guarantee you that did not happen.

https://www.mecum.com/lots/1095307/1968-shelby-gt500-convertible/?aa_id=483624-0

Here is where the car is now....with an "unhappy" owner. They probably paid a good price for the car, now have a whopper body work bill and will never have a car worth what they originally paid for it.

There are about a half dozen videos of the car.  This is why we say it....

Its one thing if you sign up for the full restoration experience, another if you just get dropped in your lap because you didnt do your due diligence.

Shelby American History / Checkered Flag -Chris Long
February 12, 2026, 06:49:06 PM
Chris Long was the son of David Long. David Long was the owner of Conelec. This is a company that worked closely with Shelby creating fuel injection cars.

I met Chris more than twelve years ago. Chris was instrumental in providing his engineering talents to help restore working EFI cars. We worked on the Green Hornet together.

Chris and his father's legacy will be part of the Shelby story.

Thank you my friend, for sharing with is all.

Services Offered / Beware of fake websites

This seems to come up with some regularity . I found this video where its explained.

They do use Shelbys as bait, but remember there is a huge database of photos kept by Shelby club members that can usually identify any car.

If it looks like a great deal, it is probably a scammer

overlandautousa.com I say:  scam no question in my mind

Chatgpt says "There's no clear evidence that overlandautousa.com is a trusted, well-reviewed car dealer, and it doesn't appear in major business review listings yet. That doesn't automatically mean it's a scam — but it does mean you should be cautious and verify independently before spending money."

BEWARE!!!  Serial number is not a red convertible, so now I am off to see where he stole the pictures from!
