This slightly ratty early Cobra was photographed at SAAC-1 in Oakland, CA back in '76. It remains unidentified in my files. Anyone recognize it? The black CA plate is "ZFH-534" and the car appears to have a wooden dashboard.

CSX 2000 Series / Anyone recognize the plate or car?
December 15, 2023, 03:40:28 PM
I'm thinking these shots posted the other day are of CSX 2151, which spent time in Hawaii, western Canada, and British Columbia. Does anyone recognize where the license plate - FEK 639 - might be from?

CSX1000, 4000, 7000, 8000 / CSX 4000 appraisal

Can anyone here provide an appraisal for the owner of a CSX 4000-series car ?

OK, California Cobra aficionados: Here are some photos of a black 289 Cobra with a red interior that was photographed in the '80s when it used the blue CA tag "OCOBRA." It appears to me that the side vents and emblems near them are installed somewhat low, possibly suggesting this was not a car that originally came with them. Who recalls this car??

CSX 3000 Series / Can anyone ID this museum car?

There is a red 427 Cobra in an unidentified vehicle museum. Can anyone here ID either the museum or the car?

CSX 3000 Series / CSX 3015 at Barrett-Jackson
March 27, 2021, 10:23:08 PM
CSX 3015, the ex-Carroll Shelby Supersnake, was  sold for $5 million tonight. The price wasn't as much of a surprise as was the fact that a vintage SAAC member signed for it - Jim Wicks. I look forward to hearing the rest of the story.

News from HQ / When bad news is good news for a change!

For at least the past 15 years, an individual has made various posts on different social media and other websites attacking SAAC, its officers, its directors, its Cobra Registrar, and cars he chose to insult. Many of these have appeared through a website called WordPress, which allows posting of unsubstantiated claims but does NOT permit responses challenging them.

This has given the responsible individual an open season on people and vehicles, and he has taken advantage of this opportunity to call everyone with a position of responsibility with the club all manner of inappropriate, spurious names while simultaneously lying to prospective buyers of different Cobras claiming they were replicas and fakes that SAAC was trying to profit from by selling. He also claimed to be an independent private investigator of the FBI's Los Angeles office, a claim which we immediately proved was a lie.

SAAC has done everything possible to counter the absurd allegations leveled at us without success. Now, it appears that karma has flexed its muscles.

Richard Cranford was the person making these false statements. When confronted by various people he attacked, he cursed at them and refused to acknowledge his participation in the various lies spread around the internet. I am relieved to report that Cranford is no longer among us, as we have just received the news that he has died. Roughly 4 years ago, Richard was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and possibly one could blame it for his mental illness. However, unless this tumor was invading his brain for over 15 years, his own desire to lash out at people who refused to listen to his absurd demands preceded his illness.

I would never wish cancer on anyone. And I am sorry Richard had to go through the process. But I won't say I miss him, and I doubt anyone who came into contact with him ever will.

Bye, Dick!

Rick would prefer no one knew this, as he likes to fly under the radar and not call attention to himself...but our fearless leader has just gone through triple bypass surgery. He is reported to be doing well. As someone who has gone through open-heart surgery myself, I know this can be a slow and somewhat painful recovery process. Let's offer him whatever encouragement we can to assist him through this.

Good luck, Rick. Hope you feel much better quickly and can get back to riding herd over the unchecked masses ASAP!

So...got a request from France to "register" a new purchase, said to be CSX 3120. Problem is, nothing adds up. The pictures tend to speak for themselves...

Someone in the U.S. is attempting to sell a poorly built replica as CSX 2009, offering it privately as a "very early car, just 2200 miles, all documentation included. $1.3 million." The car is a complete fraud and, as replicas go, shouldn't fool anyone, especially at that price. THE GENUINE CAR IS IN EUROPE.

CSX 2349 had a difficult day on the 2019 Tour Auto. It arrived at a righd-hand corner too quickly, was unable to make the turn, and skidded off the road, landing in a tree some 25 feet off the ground. It was said both passengers were OK.
