The fiberglass is the only bigger issue I see, its a very nice restored car

Pete,
what about inner fender aprons being replaced along with Rad support , hood and nose?

"The seller indicates that the vehicle was involved in front-end damage during previous ownership, resulting in the core support and inner fender aprons being replaced. The headlight buckets, letter panel, and hood are also replacement items."
I talked to Marc. The aprons replaced and the original vin numbers welded into the new aprons. I guess a pet peeve while a minor one is a 200K plus car with an incorrect last service/Scott Drake repo shift knob on them. With such a beautiful resto You would think they would search out a correct original flat 3 shift knob for it.
So it's considered ok to cut out vin's from an original car and place them into new aprons?  Isn't that how air cars or something like that come about?

Quote from: 98SVT - was 06GT on July 05, 2024, 03:34:26 PMThis is why we no longer see very many "old" cars at conventions and shows. If the owner is even interested in attending they will bring a car or two leaving the other 10-100 at home.
I wonder if holding conventions near these collections would be doable. The open track while it's been a staple of the SAAC convention has become more of a replica and late car event than one for classic Shelbys. Just a thought......
At SAAC 43 in 2018, which was held at Sonoma, we had a day at DenBeste Motorsports so we've done it before.  It was awesome!  What a collection!

I can only imagine the grinder the new owners will be put through.  Most race tracks are under some sort of threat from the general public.

Quote from: Rickmustang on June 07, 2024, 03:19:36 PM$261k was good offer IMHO for a race car with a '65 Shelby tag 😁

I tend to agree also, I valued mine at $175k-$200k in race trim...But this car was being sold with the original engine I think, that's worth a bump to a lot of people...
I take it your cars original engine is long gone?

Do you have any pictures of your car?

$6.5mm seems like a steal.  I wonder if the wife would like to relocate to California?

I wish I could get additional info on this car, I just don't know where to look out side the registries.  I've been seriously considering taking a run at a 65 but this car really speaks to me.  I've been spending allot of time on the track these days in my 13 BOSS 302s and a 65 track car like this would check so many boxes.  Way more affordable then a fully restored award winner and I'd be less concerned with driving/tracking it.

I'd just like to know more of it's history and any additional info that might be available.  Anyone, anyone, class, anyone??

Does anyone know what this car sold for previously?  Does anyone have any additional/previous information on this car?  If you do, please pm me, I'd really appreciate it.

Oh wow. This might be a 65 I'd like.  Not a award winner or a garage queen, just a down and dirt track car.

I'm curious if the engine they are including as a spare is the original?

I found the video of the restoration of 525.

So, it looks like Lot F147 is the 65 GT350 that Legendary had for sale at their Ontario location for the past year.  It looks very nice and there was a great video of the restoration, but unfortunately they have removed it.

Anyone know what they were asking for the car when they were trying to sell it?

Congrats.  Love that color and I'm partial to 68's.

I've got 2 of the rings.  I'm away on holidays for a month but I'll post pictures of both rings when I get home in a month or so.
