"Mustang parts of Nigeria"

"graceGt500" on the Concours Forum recently did the same thing to me with one of my "parts wanted" ads.

Always that "friend" has one for sale.

Anyone with a NOS C4AF-11450 that's willing to trade for this C7AF, let me know?

Looking through some of my records, I sold an actual '67 NOS Mustang antenna as a "65-66" without knowing about this detail.

I found the pic and just posted it, of the NOS antenna that retracted further down in its mast---the '67 antenna.

Maybe the NOS antennas in my collection got mixed up over the years? Who knows? I'll see "if" the buyer still has it and possibly attempt to swap the masts back? The buyer had a 65 Mustang convertible project at that time.

Worst case scenario, list this antenna as a "65 to 66" and as a "service replacement" for "67 to 68" Mustangs?

Or if it creates too much confusion with the part # on box and 67 instructions, I'll put aside as a spare part for myself.

This looks like a 67

Any chance, you recall the part # on the box?

I'm under the impression the actual "67" antenna with a mast that retracts further down is an "assembly line only" part? Everything in this kit refers to the year 1967. It looks exactly like the 65 to 66 antennas, but as far as advertising it, as those years will also cause some degree of confusion as to its correct application. I can only go by the Ford part # on the box and the 1967 instruction sheets in the kit. Plus, the cast pieces are "C7ZA" too.

I checked two other NOS C5ZZ Ford Service kits. All retract the same way and appear to be later offerings from Ford. One Ford NOS Service kit is dated for 1970 with instructions covering 1965 to 1968. Its chrome bezel has a 'D0H" casting #

The other Ford Service antenna kit appears to be dated in 1975 and has the contents of the 1967 NOS kit with "C7ZA" cast parts.

I might have one more '67 NOS kit in storage.

As for the year, the part # on the kit, date of the instruction sheets, '67 fender templates in the box, and "C7Z"# cast inside the chrome bezel.

I also have a later NOS C5ZZ antenna kit with 1970 dates on the instructions and the chrome base is similar, but different in height with a "D0H" casting # inside the chrome bezel and the top portion of the antenna base is not beveled like the 60's versions of this antenna. Instead, the top of the base is machined flat for the later Ford Service antenna of the early 70's.

When I get a chance, I'll compare this antenna to the other NOS Mustang antennas in my collection. I'm curious to see, if there are any other differences worth noting.

Do you have an actual "67" antenna that demonstrates the feature you described?  If so, try to upload a picture.
