I foresee a trend here and am saving for the James Dean Porsche and Jim Morrison Shelby watches. :D

Was this GT350 ever shown at a SAAC convention in Peoples Choice perhaps?  As owner of 6s2187, I have found cars one or two VIN numbers from mine. If I recall, all were sapphire blue like mine.

Check with Craig Conley at Paradise Wheels for assorted Paxton supercharger parts.

CSX8000 is a 289 continuation.

It means that a major commission revenue stream for Shelby Licensing and the Carroll Hall Shelby Trust has ended.  There are other sources such as the Shelby American shop and Shelby named merchandise, but this is a big one that is gone.

Will Shelby St. in Ontario, Ca be next now that the California Speedway is closed?

Current is at $28,250.  Stated estimated retail value:$155,00.  Is that restored or in current messed up condition?

The canoe arrived with mine today in Honolulu. Great job, Jay, with a hard task to follow especially with all the work on SAAC 50 and membership duties. The color print is a little pungent from still being fresh. I prefer the fragrance of race fuel and hot brakes!

This is an excellent discussion. If a car is found by judges at a SAAC or MCA show not to be as described at the time of purchase, would the owner have any legal recourse against the seller and/or BAT or other auction for misrepresentation?   8)

Are cloned barns allowed for speculation?  Will there be a TAB (Try A Barn) site?  The mind wanders at this age.  Sorry.

News from HQ / Re: Checkered Flag Doug Cresanta

I talked to Kathy a few days ago while Doug was in the hospital. It is a sincere loss to us and SAAC.  He attended 46 conventions, 37 with a car.  He restored 6S188 and took it to conventions, car shows and numerous special events and tours.
I met Doug and Kathy about 35 years ago when he came to Honolulu each year for license upgrade renwals for Continental pilots and navigators.

Doug and Kathy came to our club car shows and always volunteered at our special events that occured during their visits.  They spent the rest of the time enjoying local hula and old time Hawaiian music performances.  They made lasting friendships with many musicians.  It also fed Dougs hobby as a very accomplished steel guitar player.

We will miss Doug and all his stories of his adventures. Hugs to Kathy. Aloha, Doug.

His photos help maintain the legacy of the cars, racers and personnel of an amazing era.  I had the pleasure of chatting with Dave at a the Indianpolis SAAC Convention when his Shelby American book was being released.  He was such an interesting man and a keen eye photographer. While he will be missed, his works, thanksfully, remain.
