SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Checkered Flag Miki Iinuma
September 10, 2025, 09:26:51 PM
Our dear friend Miki Iinuma passed away this morning at her daughters home in Sunnyale, CA.  She and her husband, Kei, were looking forward to returning home to Hawaii in a couple of weeks after spending another four months of summer driving the highways of America in their #34 Shelby 8000 Cobra CSX007 going from coast to coast to see friends and enjoy on track events, including the recent SAAC-50 in Sonoma.  It is a heavy loss to many of us.

Legendary SAAC members Richard and PK Cline and their 1966 GT350 are mentioned in Terry Shea's article in the September 2025 "Hemmings Motor News".  Congrats. 8)

SAAC Forum Requests / Connection to SAAC website
June 10, 2024, 05:01:24 PM
I do not notice a place to click on to access the SAAC web site on this forum site.  Is it possible to have one?

There is a nice article about a green 1968 GT500 fastback in the Jan/Feb 2024 AACA "Antique Automobile" magazine.  The owner inherited the car from her father, who first let her drive it as a teenager.  The car has been recently restored and the owner has lots of original memorabilia. She drives quite often. I do not know the VIN.  The Shelby is owned by Sarah Patterson, wife of Gary Patterson, president of Shelby American in Las Vegas.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / And They Keep On Coming

For your perusal: https://fordauthority.com/2023/12/all-new-1967-shelby-gt500-reproduction-announced/

For the price, an original would be more my preference than a reproduction.  8)

Up For Auction / 6S1797 Was Up For Sale
March 02, 2023, 03:31:26 PM
Not my car.  Spotted this auction sale that did not meet reserve.  Any information on it may be helpful for a registry update.

I spotted this today.  Information from the Shelby American Registry is shown with them.  Anyone know details?

Doing this for an elderly owner of #2732 here in Hawaii.  The GT500 was sold at Gaplin Ford in Sepulveda, CA.  Build date 5/26/69.  He needs the a/c repaired and is working on conversion from R12 to R134a coolant.  What compressor and evaporator does he need to order?  Hoses or other items?  He will retain the original pieces for the next owner.  His a/c repair guys say there are two possible different compressor units depending on date of build.(?????).  Any input would be appreciated as to what to parts to get and recommended source(s).  Shipping incorrect parts in and back  from Hawaii gets expensive, if not annoying.

Thank you. 8)
