Isnt that plug the same as used on 70 mustang taillight buckets and nj package trays among other uses as they had a hollow hole in them to screw over pointed screw end to protect sharp point. These were hard to find till i found a bunch of them at a mopar swap meet back in the 90s as they were used for a weatherstrip screw protector but here are 2 types a hard plastic and a softer rubber type.

April 27, 2026, 11:14:04 PM
Found a set doza-b late 69-70 shelby big suspension f-60-15 tire spindles missing rotors and dont care about rotor condition as i got some just need the center hub as they are 2 piece. Back years ago i sent an nos c9zz rotor to CA to have made for branda but they are all sold so surely someone has there used worn out rotors laying around after they installed the new rotors that branda sold? ed meyer 8126391470

Yes the 70 RARE mercury drag pack cougar xr7 ram air hurst 4-speed convertible will be there as we been correcting the car after a long florida restoration and like usual its always finding the correct parts and detailing to be concours  correct done to fuller rare  1970 mercury  dowa dual exhaust system. This car now has nos tires ,all autolite filters .original headlights ,  dowy autolite shocks,16'' trico nos wiper blades, all paperwork etc etc. Also we been correcting the RARE 70 shelby gt350 grabber orange with factory red interior a 1 of 1 car from oregon OO as this car is the oddest unique color combination shelby ever made and very KOOL looking being a 70 orange black hood stripes with black ford louvers that have been on the car from back in the day. Ron i think this unique odd shelby needs to be in the SAAC booth at indy mecum what u think?

Just got home from parts hauling trip to billups oklahoma shop so will try and find mine as i am wondering if u want just the end plate with c6da # or the studs end also?  The 71 and up were sold under a d1zz# and are factory correct being a thicker metal plate since the 71 up cars were bigger and heavier so they need beefed up as i seen thinner early year shakles bent.

i got some i got back years ago on west coast and i only seen the c6da # on sj cars

Your tank sender wireing is done correctly DO NOT remove threading . 69 shelby (same as cougar) had 2 wires going to tank sender but only 1 gets used. Mustang uses 1 yellow wire but cougar had the low fuel warning  XR7 sender option  that uses 2 wires so both wires had to be threaded together but on shelby only 1 wire is used to plug into yellow sending unit wire.

Yes and also engine code changes maybe because of torino scjs used a different carb since the linkage was different no cable like mustang and cougar used.

Great info pete and good 69 updates as we need more 69 info so someday maybe you can change the name to purplesnake HAHA. I have always wondered about the 424 s to t change but wondered where you got that info as the only change would be when having the orange hose valve under air cleaner wouldnt be part of the engine build at the engine plant but installing the 2 choke heat tubes on rh manifold would be since the 1 would have a T for the short orange hose to air cleaner bottom valve. I often thought the change may be the pistons as there are 3 types between 68 and 70 and some say super on them but what is always missed in the scj engine parts list is the wrist pins (c9oe) # being a thicker wall more heavier design used on scjs . Also the air cleaner base design going from the flat botton type early to later c9ze type with the hump just above the throttle cable (like in your new photo) i always thought this was a clearance design change due to the new 69 automatic kick down rod being attached to the carburator. The water pump pulley was a c8oe change to c8ae bigger diameter pulley and this was a problem when ordering marti belts as i could always tell when a cj or scj had the wrong smog belt justa by looking at the location of th smog pump adjuster as the pump would be all the way adjusted out instead of in the middle of the adjustment slot because of wrong lenght belt because of different diameter pulleys since the smog is also bigger diameter like the 2 water pump pulleys all 3 are bigger on the c8ae pulley. But the c8ae pulley started out on the 69 scjs but was used later in 69 and 70 on the regular cjs and some of these changes showed up in feb 69. Also on pete diagram drawing of the scj oil cooler set up it shows a long c9oe torino upper oil cooler bracket instead of the short c9ze bracket even thou the drawing is for the mustang since the oil lines are both different between the torino and mustang. The longer torino bracket is needed since torino has a taller radiator and shroud.Keep up the good work pete as it helps the 69 shelby owners out since you got everything figured out on the 68 shelbys over the years.
