I recall reading something about that engine in some book a long time ago. I can't remember the book, but I vividly recall it showing a picture of the connecting rods. I remember the picture because the rod caps were at a 45-degree angle as opposed to being flat across.

I remember this also in a Super Ford Magazine article in the early 80's. They did an engine build and put it in a 66 GT350H.

The 93 catalog I have just lists a cap (120323) and rotor (130316). No diagrams or parts list. When I worked (90-99) for Echlin (parent company of Accel back then) everything was 37/43/45/46000 series distributors, we had no 35000/ BEI stuff.

Did all 68 390s have that vacuum module on the side of the air cleaner?

I think just S code 390's had the vacuum module. And then it may have been Mustang/Cougar/Torino/Cyclone.

I also think F150 brakes (1990ish)are 11" x 2".

This video goes through checking front ends on Cougars, but it the same principle. It also shows steering box adjustment. As stated before there is no substitute to the Ford shop manual.

The full size pans don't have the indents to clear the steering linkage like a mustang pan.

I have no knowledge or experience with a locker made in China.

      The locker you have is from the time where the springs were in question. Older Ford Motorsport catalogs use to show the date which had "the wrong" springs in them. I don't have one in front of me to tell you how to ID it.

According to the 92 Motorsport catalog Randy mentioned: all motorsport lockers built after Nov. 15, 1990 have the heavy duty spring (72lbs vs 58lbs). Lockers are dated date - # /month - letter/ year-#. example - 16 M 91 would be December 16, 1991

My 1993 copy of the ACCEL catalog does not list a point set for 289 hipo/427 dual point distributors. The only ones listed are for Boss 302 and 70CJ which are what Dizzy posted.

Could you use/modify a fox mustang bracket? They mount the blower on the right side.
