My advice to the family was remove the Shelby tag and sell as a Mustang. Otherwise, things get "complicated"!

Early car. Peter Klutt talked it up in a video before the auction. Record price. More than an R model

David Randal, owner of Randal Restorations, passed away Wednesday after a long illness. David was an early restorer of our cars, including the first restoration on the Super Snake 1967 GT 500, CSX 3020 (back-up car to LeMans), and several 1965 GT 350s, including 5S046 and 5S238. David perfected the wood steering wheel restoration process, and could replace all the wood on 1965 and 1967 Shelbys. He is credited with numerous magazine articles in Muscle Car Review and Mustang Monthly. As restorations became more popular, and more knowledge made available, David was humbled by the people in the hobby that helped him restore cars. His kids now run Randal Automotive in Kerrville. He was a good friend and restored the steering wheel in my 1965. A memorial service is Tuesday in Kerrville, Texas. God speed David!

Ford GT / Texas Ford GT Mini-Rally
April 15, 2026, 03:09:44 PM
The Texas Ford GT guys held a mini-rally in the Texas Hill Country this week. We were based at the Hanger Hotel, a WW2 themed hotel on the Fredericksburg airport ramp. A couple days of driving through the hill country were awesome, with stops for Texas lunches and winery's. We even went to Luckenbach! Thanks to Chris Crawford for putting this together, and Rich Brooks (Ford GT head concours judge) for bringing a couple cars down from Michigan. Fun times for all with great food and driving. Enjoy the photos.

The filter itself is 1 3/4, but overall height is 2. I had to use a 3x2 filter to clear my hood on my 67 Fairlane.
