Quote from: 6s1640 on April 13, 2026, 11:38:51 PMHi all, I picked up this valley Ford Parts catalog and cannot find any copyright or year in it. Does anybody have an idea of the year of this catalog?  The Valley Ford Parts story talks about Bill Norton as if he no longer was the owner of the company as a hint.
Thanks
Cory

Bill Norton was awesome I had the opportunity to experience his personality many times. He taught me many things.

John
Learned a few things there as well! I spent most of my first pay checks there, Does anyone remember the big Finger sign at the front door .......Stating LOSE MONEY MAKE A FRIEND!

Up For Auction / Re: 5S192 at mecum

Sometimes we all make mistakes... Because of the POOR/BAD venue decision the seller was probably pissed, and the new owner slipped away like a thief in the night knowing he got a bargain/steal of a price on one of the most iconic SHELBYS... the 65s.There are other auction sites, places and times that would have been a better option for seller. Something to think about when selling!

QuoteJust to be clear the Snake one line version is the last used of the three styles used in 67.

Any idea of  the date or Shelby number when this occurred? I understand this may be a fuzzy number/date -- just like other things at SA in 67.
Fuzzy line. SA didn't keep track of things like this and it is up to enthusiasts to document with observations. I would be interested if someone else can put a pin on the timeline.
I cant pinpoint a timeline, but I can put a number to the sill plate. That is a picture of my car pre restoration taken by JEFF as 1189 was being documented back in the day. Thanks Jeff!

For the full effect some sell the barn find dirt, mouse/rat droppings, original air in the spare tire and parade it around to the BIG SHOWS in Texas, then ask a premium for AS FOUND CONDITION! I think that ship has sailed possibly.

He is just another used car salesman... The Collins and Rollins duo is just merely some entertainment. Neither of them knows how to work on a car, They dont repair, restore, or race anything as far as what they share! They have some entertainment value for me, because both are sort of quirky enough to hold just enough attention... to waste a couple minutes of my day to see what they are up to. I am probably not going to be buying some of his coffee or other merch, but I would have a Beer with either of them just for some updates on life in Texas!

SLED... the first step is usually the hardest. Good to see some forward momentum!

Interesting story for sure... But 99.3 percent of the general public will say why did you do that? Like looking into a 66 SHELBY and seeing an automatic even if it came that way. Then the constant discussion of thats just the way it is. Best to ya!

Its been a crazy FUN,LONG exhausting week out in the desert... home of THE worlds greatest auction. Great to hang out and see old time friends and a few new friends thrown in for good luck. Prices seemed a bit soft this year with a few home runs but the fun was off the scale. To all those headed back to the frozen tundra of half of the states... Be safe till we meet again, and keep it swinging, and the tires rolling! ;)  ;D

It goes against most common reason, but unless one has been exposed to the TWILIGHT ZONE..... My car was stored in AZ for decades, in the furthest darkest corners of a storage bldg without ever seeing the light of day. That STRANGE WOMAN that has been linked to the car and has been mentioned on occasion crossed my path a few times she believed my car was the Morrison car... When the storage locker door was slowly opened it became an ulterior universe time machine moment back to 1971... when the car was taken off the road due to a mishap. They are out there still, lets hope it is just waiting its turn for a grand reappearance!!!

I am one of those that believe the car is still around in some shape or form. My car 1189 is a testament to some very long storage, say 45 years or so being shoved in the back of some garage..... before going forward and making it presentable again. I believed I had found the Morrison car, because of its interesting storyline and VERY short time on the road before having a mishap that took it off the road for many decades, and some strange and interesting characters that had crossed its path. The VIN became known a while back to my dismay and some others but the story is still an interesting one considering the people and cars of the swinging sixties. I hope we will see this one pop up as well, they are still out there!!!

Curious what a price for said hood might cost? I know where one is..... that has been sitting in storage for the last 55 years!
