CSX 2000 Series / Re: CSX2??? in NH

Quote from: Cobra Ned on June 19, 2025, 06:12:29 PMWe are currently aware of two 289 Cobras in the state of NH, both of which have had multiple owners. If the  car described actually exists, it's hard to imagine how it has escaped scrutiny for the past 50 years.

Morning Ned. I posted a while ago about a 427 Cobra I saw goin buy me on a trailer. Looked original . This was in North east Mass buy the NH boarder. Are there still any owners around Ma/NH ?

Thanks
Dan

Quote from: tesgt350 on March 18, 2025, 06:17:12 AMThe sad part is, the Vet will receive worse Damage while it is being removed by the Tow Truck then what happened during the crash.

I'd get a crane . Be easier to me.

Quote from: deathsled on September 01, 2024, 06:12:00 PMIf the car wasn't so special, then ignoring the offer wouldn't matter so much.  Sometimes it is a much larger thing that drives the motivation for a big asking price, and I would pin some of it on the macroeconomics of an enormously mismanaged economy that we have endured for a specified period of time.  Men may be feathering their nests for a possible upcoming devastating blow in the not-so-distant future.

My rudimentary understanding is that the 289 engine can only be bored .030 once and then no more due to the thin wall construction, no?

Better to go .30 then sleeve it.  I hope I am able to ball hone it, polish the crank and ring and bearing it - wishful thinking I know.....

Once ya go .30 thats the end of the block. I'd sleeve it an keep it standard bore. Sleeving has come a long way. If the standard bore is loose you can cure it with coatings. We race a V6 Buick Turbo. 8 sec @ 150+. Buick blocks are getting harder to get so we try an keep the block survivable for more rebuilds.
.... What if ya did go .30 an had an engine fail ? Shit happeneds ... If ya need an info on coatings message me.

Wow looking for that pic for years. I had a new 65 Mustang convertible. Saw this pic an took it down to my local Ford dealer. Wanted it bad. They checked an said they were not available. Found the Blue car in 1974. Had it for over 40+ years.

Sounds like an 84/85 hot air car ya had with those seats. They all came with a 200R4. 86/87s were a completely different animal. I went from die hard FE Ford guy till 1980. Stayed clean off cars that all were slugs till 1986. Friend had a GN an let me take it for a ride . 2 weeks later I had one. Few months later got another one. Wife had the 3rd gen Camaro's an TA's. OMG what slugs. Then the 89 Turbo Trans Am V6 Turbo came out. 1550 of them . Wife bought one new. Raced it 2/3 days a week at the drags. One of the most fun cars we ever owned. Did you ever get to try one ?? To this day my old die hard Ford guys carry a grudge. Take em for a ride an they just scratched their head. Must have been a blast testing cars back then.  8)
