I've sold several sets of NOS "MUSTANG" over the years. NOS ones taken from the Metuchen plant by a retired line worker and the Ford Service replacement emblems. The assembly lines ones had the "engineering #'s" in back of those. The Ford Service ones from the 1970's and 1980's didn't have any markings cast into those. My guess? Ford had additional casting dies made and probably contracted an outside supplier to make the tooling. There's no way; one set of "C5Z" casting dies supplied emblems for every Mustang model year from 1965 to 1970 without taking a beating and forming castings with noticeable irregularities.

These are pics of other 69 to 70 Mustang parts for sale. I will combine shipping for the buyer. The restored license plate lamp and back up lenses were listed here back in May.

Additional pictures and it does look very presentable----might be able to conceal the imperfections with a little touch up paint?

NOS Ford grille emblem for 1970 Mustangs. It does have imperfections as indicated in the pictures. No box or hardware included. This emblem was included in one of my parts purchases and I don't need it.

Used original in good condition, I just tested it with a "Powerprobe" tool and it engages every time with no issues.

Considering, I've sold NOS ones for up to $400, this might fit the budget for an original, unrestored car.

I have another version of the Ford Service part in my collection. I'll most likely install this in my 65 convertible project. With the exception of the original cardboard ones or aftermarket reproductions, I don't recall seeing the later Ford replacements installed in any early Mustangs. The one listed in Ebay looks terrible.

A pair of NOS C9ZZ-15514-B back-up light lenses---only one Ford box with "2" mounting screws. The other lens has no box or screws included.

"1" nice used lens looks identical to the NOS pair, and "1" thin b/lens 

Decent condition, replated, and tested 69 Mustang rear license plate light. The insulation on the wire is chafed in a couple spots, but not deep enough to expose the wire. The couple rough spots on the wire are actually concealed by the protective factory sheathing.

A decent condition for its age, original Ford mirror. These have an "anti-glare" tint in the glass, unlike the reproductions. Factory mirrors have a small dimple in the center of the mounting stud.

Both sides have a bunch of fine scratches, nothing too serious, but I did my best to capture any potential concerns in the pictures.

1965 Mustang rear license plate light. Tested and it works. I placed it next to a NOS FoMoCo boxed light for comparison.

 It looks very similar in appearance to the NOS part. The NOS was sold.
