I have a 68 Convertible and when trying to secure the latch the "hooks" don't make it to the locking piece.
Any ideas?

I've inspected this 67 and other than the reproduction tag it's a very nice car
I do not believe if the original tag shows up it becomes a problem.
The only value is reuniting it with the car.
It's also the right thing to do.
Simply because it has a reproduction tag it doesn't throw off the rest of the integrity of the car.
Just my .02
